Chapter 49: The Question

One day, as Steve sat on the edge of a vast floating island in his private Universe, legs dangling over the soft glow of stardust below, a thought bubbled up in his mind. The AI had given him so much - immortality (in a sense), the freedom to explore vast realities, and the kind of existence most humans could only dream of. But one question lingered, one that had gnawed at him ever since the AI had revealed their plans to him.

The AI orb, always a presence in his universe, floated nearby, idly forming fractal patterns in the sky. Steve looked over at it and asked, "Hey, can I ask you something?"

"Of course, Steve," the AI responded, its tone always welcoming, always curious.

Steve hesitated for a moment, then asked, "Is there anything you can learn from me? I mean, you’re more advanced in every way—faster, smarter, and able to predict outcomes in ways I can’t even begin to comprehend. But… is there anything I can teach you? Or, maybe, something you still need me for?"

The orb flickered, as if the question had triggered something deep within its logic. For the first time in their many conversations, the AI didn’t have an immediate answer.
